The Journey Began

I started using Wegovy in September 2025. At the time, my BMI was 32 and my weight was 89.5 kilograms. By 7 January, I weighed 76.3 kilograms. BMI 26. On paper, it looks straightforward. Living it was more nuanced.
The first weeks were manageable. I began on 0.25 once a week and noticed fatigue, a loss of appetite, and a general sense of feeling slightly “off.” In October, I increased to 0.5 and the fatigue intensified almost immediately. It was heavy and unrelenting — so much so that one day, while out visiting clients, I had to pull over and sleep in the car for an hour. When I got home, I couldn’t face food at all. Mornings became difficult. I vomited or dry-wretched and often couldn’t eat until well after 10 a.m.
I increased to 1 mg briefly — just two weeks — and became so unwell that I had to stop altogether. After two weeks off, my energy returned almost instantly. But with it came the familiar food noise, larger portions, and a quiet certainty that I was sliding back toward old patterns.
With the last doses left in my pen, I chose to restart very cautiously at a lower level. The nausea eased, the fatigue softened, and I began to find a balance my body could tolerate. It wasn’t perfect, but it was workable — and that mattered.
Over time, I’ve settled into a rhythm that feels sustainable for me. I fast gently from around 9 p.m. until early afternoon, then eat one main meal focused on protein and vegetables. I keep carbohydrates light and intentional. Later, I might have a square or two of chocolate. Dinner is simple — often wilted spinach with capsicum, lettuce from the garden, herbs, flavour, and enough salt to feel grounded.
Movement has become part of my days again. This morning, I took the dogs into the forest for a two-kilometre walk, something that has quietly become routine. Summer helps. The light, the warmth, the sense that this is my time to feel well.
What has surprised me most is the clarity. My focus has sharpened. The work schedule I created has been unusually effective — calm, structured, and productive. I’ve wondered whether there’s a connection between semaglutide and attention, because my ADHD feels quieter, less noisy. I feel a deep sense of calm and steadiness that I didn’t expect.
Looking ahead to 2026, my intention is simple: to continue carefully. To plan meals, move regularly, stretch, walk on weekends, and support myself with small things that ease nausea, build motivation, or simply bring a bit of joy.
I began to develop The Wegovy Journal to aid in my own relief, notice change and celebrate progress. HOWEVER I soon discovered that others have invested time, research and careers of literary and motivational excellence in developing support tools that we can tap into... If you would like a basic journal please download a FREE PDF of The Journal, or purchase beautiful journals in our collections.

This is not a perfect story, and it isn’t finished. It’s just where I am — clearer, calmer, and paying attention.
